What is crypto casino game provider

Every crypto casino offers you a specific selection of games you can play. But those games have to come from somewhere.

These games come from game providers who offer games to both regular online casinos as well as crypto casinos.

While some crypto casinos may also have their own in-house game studio in addition to all the other game providers they offer, as a rule, casino game providers are separate companies that create games for casinos to use.

Currently there are at least hundreds of different game providers in the world.

The qualities of a good game provider

But what does a good game provider look like? Or in other words, what makes an average game developer a good and popular game developer?

License

Game developer must have a license to offer its games. This implies that its games are fair and this is verified by testing. Although in crypto casinos you might also find games from developers that don't have a license, a good game provider should have it. Simply because it makes the game provider more trustworthy.

Testing

In order to make sure that game providers are honest, there are also a number of casino game testing agencies around the world that check the random number generator (RNG) randomness of the game provider's games, as well as the integrity of the games.

Design and sound

Games from a good game developer should look good visually. In this day and age, it would be nice to see games whose design isn't stuck in the 90s. Unless that look is been created knowingly to provider retro vibe.

Exactly the same could be said about the soundtracks of the games.

High RTP

A good game developer tends to offer a high RTP for its games. And in the case of a game developer offering a flexible RTP, the highest possible RTP setting could then certainly be at least around 96%.

Interesting features

Fifteen years ago most slots looked very similar. Three reels and three rows. Or five reels and three rows.

Nowadays, however, players want to see something more interesting.

Even if it's a five-reel, or a three-reel slot, it could still have a number of interesting extra features.

Simply because this makes the gaming experience more interesting.

The game developer's feel

A good game provider should have its own unique signature. That means that their games should feel different from others. This doesn't mean, of course, that they should all be exactly the same.

Are crypto casino games fair?

In licenses crypto casinos, at least in theory, all offered games should be audited by third parties and as such they should provide fair gaming experience.

This means that if the provider says that that RTP for the game is 96%, it actually pays out 96% on average as well.

However, that doesn't mean it is easy win with any game. Or that at the end of the gambling session you will always get back 96% of the money you put it.

That's not how it works.

The RTP just shows the average payout.

In reality you can lose all your money or you can win a lot.

And that's what makes it interesting.

Types of game providers - flexible RTP vs fixed RTP

Crypto casino game providers could be divided between two main groups.

These groups are game providers that offer flexible RTP and game providers that offer fixed RTP.

Flexible RTP game providers

A few years ago there were only some  game providers that offered casinos the possibility to choose between several different RTP settings for their games. Today at least half of the providers offer flexible RTP.

What this means is that the RTP for the same game can be different in different casinos.

This also means that the RTP of that game provider's games should always be checked in each and every casino you play in.

While the RTP of the same game may be 96% in one casino, it may be as low as 91% in another. And this is a very significant difference.

Flexible RTP providers may offer three or more RTP configurations for the same game, from which each casino can choose the one that suits them best.

For example, the same game can have 89%, 91%, 94%, and 96% RTP.

Game providers with fixed RTP

A decade or so ago, the majority of game developers could be placed in this category, but today there are fewer and fewer game creators offering only fixed RTP games.

Fixed RTP game providers make the game with one RTP only.

If a game developer has created a game with 96% RTP, then 96% is the RTP in every casino.

Fixed RTP game providers could be further divided into two - high RTP game providers and low (or at least lower) RTP game providers.

It is true, of course, that any game provider can have both low and high RTP games.

High RTP game providers

An average high RTP could be considered to be 95%+.

Low RTP gambling providers

Low RTP game providers tend to offer games with 94% RTP or lower.

However, it should be mentioned that ELK Studios, for example, used to offer games with 96% RTP, while their more recent games tend to have 94% RTP.

That means that ELK would have been a game with a high RTP in the past, but today they would be considered a game provider with low RTP.

The world's best-known slot providers

These days it is difficult to single out just a few providers. Simply because there are so many.

Some very well known slot providers are Netent and Play'n Go.

But also Yggdrasil and Quickspin are very popular game developers. Also Betsoft.

Every year new providers are gaining more and more popularity in crypto casinos.

Hacksaw Gaming, Relax Gaming, and Red Tiger are just a few examples.

The world's best-known live casino game creators

What are the world's best-known live casino studios?

Compared to slot providers, not too much has changed over the years.

The main live casino studiosare:
Of course, there's also Ezugi, Authentic Gaming and many others, but they are still far from being as popular as the main two.

Find your favourite provider and play responsibly

There are hundreds of different game providers you can find in crypto casinos.

For you as a player, this means that the choice is very good.

But before you head to the casino, I recommend you play the free versions of games from different game developers on this site, find your favourite games and favourite game providers, and only then try them out for real money at the crypto casino.

And urge you to ALWAYS check the RTP of any game from a game manufacturer with a flexible RTP when you open the  game at any casino.

On the plus side, if the casino has selected the highest RTP setting for one game from a game provider, there is a high probability that the same setting has been selected for other games from the same game provider as well. So, as a rule, you only need to check one or two games for each game provider.

But every rule has its exceptions, so I always recommend keeping an eye on the RTP.
